Die BBC-Lokalradios verschenken DAB-Empfangsgeräte an Menschen über 70. Die 39 Lokalstationen arbeiten dafür mit Geräteherstellern, Einzelhändlern und einer Charity-Organisation zusammen.

Die Hörerinnen und Hörer können ab heute über eine Webseite Kandidaten, ihre „Radio heroes“, vorschlagen. Die BBC will mit der Aktion, die Teil der „Make A Difference“-Kampagne der Lokalradios ist, der Vereinsamung von älteren Menschen in Zeiten der Corona-Krise entgegenwirken.
